Liver spots are a form of hyperpigmentation.
This is a common affliction in which an overproduction of melanin (a natural pigment within the skin) causes dark spots and an uneven appearance. Stains are not dangerous, although it is important to keep an eye on them. See your doctor when:
- Some spots are getting darker than others
- A dark circle appears around one (or more) spots
- Do they keep growing or start to turn a reddish color?
Did you know that you can use a simple household product to combat these liver spots? You probably already have both ingredients in your pantry: an onion and apple cider vinegar. The juice of one onion has been proven to help you get rid of scars. Then there is apple cider vinegar which helps in removing dead skin layers. With these two healing ingredients, you can get your skin looking fresh and flawless again, very easily! Mix an onion to a pulp. Put the pulp in cheesecloth or a sieve and push the juice out of it. Mix onion juice with apple cider vinegar and apply it on the dark spots. Repeat this on a daily basis for a few weeks and you will notice that the spots will start to get lighter!
